Do you or anyone you know own an old lawn mower that is broken and not needed anymore?

Perhaps its stuck in the back of your shed?

Perhaps in the garage taking up useful home brew space.....

Thinking of taking it to the tip?

NO!  Give me a call I will gladly take it off your hands and set about mending it.  Please give me a call -   712475

Many thanks to Tom and welcome to Cyrilian

Over the last 2 years Tom Day of Isle of Wedmore Construction has kindly sponsored our website helping to supply our village hall with much needed funds.

This year Tom has decided to step to one side and let someone else enjoy the limelight! Please welcome 'Cyrilian', click on their logo which appears on every page of the site and see who they are and what they do.

All of our 2010/11 adverts are now up for renewal, many of you have renewed already but if you haven't renewed and wish to do so please send me your cheque for £40 made payable to Theale Village Hall, to Wood Farm Theale BS28 4SL.

Do you run a local business? Are you looking to advertise locally?  Look no further - drop us a line or ring 712286 for further details.

All our advertising revenue goes directly to the village hall.

The Green Man

Many folk from the village gathered together on saturday evening for a very festive evening thanks to Bill and his band of merry helpers!

Must have been a good evening - we ran out of Potholer!

See you all next time The Green Man opens, until then Merry Merry Christmas!

Theale Broadband Speed Survey

A number of villagers still seem to suffer from slow Broadband speeds in Theale,  so we thought it would be a good idea to gather some data and see if we can lobby BT to do something about it.

All we ask is that you run a completely free Broadband Speed Test (supplied by SpeedTest.net) and record your results in a simple form.  You can take speed readings and submit them as often as you like - and preferably at different times in the day.  Speedtest.net also records each speed reading you take so you can build up your own history for your own line too.

Soon you'll be able to see if you have a specific problem when your neighbours say they've got a blistering 6.5 megabits speed and your broadband is crawling along at 1.5 megabits.  Or you can use it as a topic of conversation at the next Theale Community Cafe.... (" Oh,  I see Snakes Lane is suffering with 0.8 megabits speed this month.  Of course,  we have 6.5 in Latcham.  How about you?" )

We'll gather the results and publish them monthly on Theale.ws.  We can then see if we have a problem and agree what to do about broadband speeds

Want to try?

Click here to open www.speedtest.net in a separate window

The click here to record your results and tell us about them.
