Local representatives on your local council

I am a 'Theale Ward' Local councillor (part of Wedmore Parish Council) I became part of the council some 6 months ago and joined forces with Edwin Badman and Mike Bethel all serving the Theale Ward.

The local parish council deals with many matters during the year and currently it is dealing with The National Grid proposal,the ongoing issues with the Wedmore Brook, planning/local development and lots more. The committee meets up regularly to discuss a wide range of issues.  There are various different committees within the Parish council and I am on the full committee, planning committee and a representative for the Theale playground.

On 31st March 2010 the Wedmore PC are holding it's AGM in the Masonic Hall, Church Street, Wedmore at 7.30pm.  This is a very good time to raise subjects for discussion.  If you have anything you would like to see raised please write to the Parish council by 22nd March 2010 at their office in Grants Lane, Wedmore.  There will also be a talk by Mr. Michael Blandford on Wedmore in Bloom, so offers an opportunity for residents to see the (award winning) presentation that Michael gave to the judges.

One suggestion that has been brought up for discussion is…..would any Theale parishioners like to see Christmas trees in the village for next Christmas? I know it is many months ahead but it would be good to know early so that preparations can then be made well in advance.  Before I go ahead it would be good to know if anyone would like to see them!  If you support this idea please email me and let me know, and also with any ideas on the best place to site them, ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. I am currently planning the parish walk on 25th April - please come if you can, 11.30am start in the Panborough Inn Car park, the pace will be suitable for families and remember to wear suitable footwear.
